Club Information
handicaps
Ayr Seafield Golf Club is affiliated to the Scottish Golf Union, the Ayrshire Golf Association and South Ayrshire Council. We award and amend handicaps in accordance with the rules of the Council of National Golf Unions (CONGU). If you do not have a current handicap, you will need to return three scorecards, over Seafield golf course and in the company of at least one other member (i.e. your marker), to the Match Secretary. If you have a current handicap, your last club can provide us with a handicap certificate.

competitions

Our summer and winter seasons run from April to October and November to March respectively and you can play on Saturday or Sunday. We play a Summer League on Wednesdays between June and August. We hold our summer competitions at Seafield, Belleisle, Dalmilling, Girvan, Lochgreen & Darley golf courses and we play team games against neighbouring clubs.
The closing date for entry to our weekly competitions is 10:00 p.m. on the Thursday preceding play. You enter a competition by either adding your name to an existing group on the competition draw sheet or by obtaining a tee-off time from the starter and adding that time and your name to the draw sheet. During the summer season, competition scorecards must be returned immediately after play to the clubroom at Belleisle. We conduct club business from the Market Inn during the winter season. We have a weekly 'sweepstake' of £1.50 and this must be paid immediately after play. You deposit your sweep money, with a note of your name and the relevant competition, in the scorecard box separately from your scorecard. If you enter a competition and fail to play without good reason, you will still have to pay your sweep money and you will be unable to enter any other competitions until you do so.
Ayr Seafield Open Championship
Our main event of the year is the Ayr Seafield Open Championship which over the past few seasons coming on the final Saturday of Ayr Golf Week in June has turned into a not to miss golf event in the national calendar with competitors coming literally from all over the world, with great friendships being formed.
clubroom
We have a clubroom at Belleisle and information on club activities is on the notice board. We use the Market Inn in Ayr as an unofficial base and the owner will make you very welcome.
Management Committee
Our Management Committee consists of Captain, Vice-Captain, Secretary, Treasurer, Match Secretary, Membership Secretary, Competition Secretary & Open Secretary. The Annual General Meeting is held in November. Nominations for positions on the committee and for changes to the club constitution must be submitted in writing to the Secretary at least seven days before the meeting. A copy of the club constitution is on the notice board in the clubroom at Belleisle and also contained within the club website.
