NEW COMPETITION

As of this year CONGU have introduced the concept of running nine hole qualifying competitions in order to encourage more members to play competitive golf.

It is proposed to run a trial series of competitions during September 2008 using this format.

All competitions will be Stableford and will be played over the first nine holes of Seafield from the medal tees.

Handicaps are approximately half of normal, there will be an official handicap table on display for reference.

There will be a sweep of £1 for each competition, and members must sign up in the usual manner.

These are qualifying competitions and therefore the scores will be used to adjust handicaps.

These scores are also acceptable to stop your handicap from lapsing.

Competition dates will be Tuesdays and Thursdays:-

2nd and 4th September

9th and 11th September

16th and 18th Septemebr

23rd and 25th September

30th September and 2nd October.

Is your handicap about to lapse?

Under CONGU Rules all players must submit a minimum of three scorecards each season.

Failure to do so will cause your handicap to lapse.

If your handicap lapses, you will not be eligible to play in any competition that requires a CONGU handicap.

Below is a complete list of all members who are in danger of having their handicaps lapse.
