Club Constitution
IMPORTANT CHANGE TO CLUB CONSTITUTION

Any member who has not paid his 2008 membership fee by 30 April 2008 will be deemed to be in arrears and will no longer be a club member, his handicap will cease, and he will no longer be able to play in any competition at any club (e.g. open competitions, Ayr/Troon/Girvan Golf Weeks) where a handicap is necessary. Any member who finds himself in this category can rejoin but his membership and handicap will only be effective from the beginning of the following month.

Summer League 08
The 2008 Summer League will be played on Wednesdays and Fridays. It will start on 30 April and will finish on 29 August. There will be no Summer League on 4 & 6 June (Ayr Golf Week) or on 4 & 25 July (Team Matches). Each member who returns a Summer League scorecard must ensure that he takes into account any potential handicap adjustment that may affect his handicap for the next competition. If you are in any doubt, contact the Match Secretary or the Secretary before returning your scorecard. Do not omit your handicap from your returned scorecard as the Committee will have to disqualify you under Rule 6-2b.

To view the full list of conforming and non-conforming clubs, log on to ‘www.randa.org’ and follow the links via Rules, Equipment & Driving Clubs. If you are in any doubt, contact the committee for clarification before you play in a competition.

Lapsed Handicaps
The Scottish Golf Union requires each member club to carry out an annual review of all member’s handicaps in January of each year.
Players who have not returned a minimum of THREE Qualifying Scores since the previous review will have their handicaps “starred”. Players with “starred” handicaps shall not be permitted to enter a competition (Home or Away) for which a CONGU handicap is required.
To regain their handicap players will be required to return up to three scores over Seafield Golf Course.
Following the submission of the requisite number of cards, the handicap allocated should be based on the cards returned and all available information regarding the player’s ability.

Supplementary Scores
A Supplementary Score is a stroke play score returned at the player’s Home Club (Seafield), other than in a Qualifying Competition. The objective is to provide additional opportunity for the return of scores for handicap purposes by those players who:-
Cannot participate in club competitions because of work or family commitments;
Cannot obtain, on a regular basis, an acceptable starting time on competition days;
Wish a handicap reflective of current ability and have little desire, for whatever reason, to play in formal competitions
A Supplementary Score may only be returned at the Home Club of the player i.e., Seafield.
Play may be from either the white or the yellow tees, which must be indicated on the scorecard.
Play must not be when the Winter Fairway Rule is in operation.
The marker must be a fellow club member, (please print name on the card).
Submit all such cards to the score box in the clubroom.
