Most
members are familiar with the format of a Stableford
competition and this
notice is for the benefit of new members who may not
have played this type of
competition. Detailed information is contained within
the Rules of Golf (Rule 32-
1b).
The
scoring in Stableford Competitions is made by points
awarded in relation to
your actual score and your handicap allowance at each
hole. Each hole has a
‘stroke index’ shown on the scorecard
and you are allowed strokes at certain holes
in accordance with your handicap e.g.-

Recording
Score
All
you need to do to comply with the Rules of Golf is
record your actual score at each hole - the committee
will then determine the number of Stableford Points
awarded. However, if you wish to record the number
of points at each hole, you can do so on the following
basis -

can 'NR' at any hole (you should lift your ball to
speed play up if it is clear that you will not score
any points on a particular hole) and 36 Stableford
Points equates to a nett score of par.
